REGULATIONS

for the yearly Inter-Airline Camera Club Competition

These regulations are to be followed by each of the participating Clubs

 

 

1          Competition categories

In each category, each club can submit a selection consisting of 8 images.

1.1     Monochrome images can be improved via digital manipulation software but must not have any surrealistic effects.

1.2     Colour images can be improved via digital manipulation software but must not have any surrealistic effects.

1.3     Digitally manipulated images/slides can either be black/white or colour and must have creative or surrealistic effects which cannot be realised with the traditional techniques.

 

- All images are to be provided as JPEG computer files and are intended for projection via a digital projector.

 

2          Trophies

2.1     The following trophies are for presentation to the winning teams in the appropriate categories:
- Monochrome images: Dennis Nutley trophy provided by BA.
- Colour images: Menno Brouwer trophy provided by KLM.
- Digitally manipulated images: Jack Casement trophy provided by BA.
The winning club in each category will hold the respective trophy for one year and will be responsible for engraving the club name on the plates.

2.2     The Millennium Trophy will be awarded to the individual who submitted the image that is chosen as the best overall image and his/her club will take care of engraving the trophy with his/her name. The trophy will be kept for one year.

2.3     A small personal award for the best in each category (1 to 3) will be provided by the hosting club.

 

3          Judging

3.1     A panel of 2 or 3 judges invited by the hosting club shall do the judging.

3.2     Judges shall comment upon both artistic and technical merits of each image and award marks out of twenty. Consequently they will select first, second, third and two highly commended in each category.

3.3     All marks per club will be added in each category. The club with the highest total in each category is the winner in that category. In case of an equal score, the club achieving the most individual placings is the winner.

 

4          Set subject

The hosting club may choose a set subject in the category of their choice. The set subject has to be communicated to the other clubs before the end of June.

 

5          Other

5.1     Images may only be submitted once

5.2     The hosting club shall communicate to each club the date for the competition by the end of December latest.
